fedge — the living fence

effort: a season

push willow sticks in the ground; harvest a fence that grows tighter every year.

plant willow whips in a crossed diamond pattern along the boundary and weave them as they grow. the cuttings root where they stand, grafting into a living lattice — stock-proof, wind-filtering, bee-feeding, and self-repairing. prunings become next year's plantings.
